manuel de falla (1876-1946) was born in cadiz and taught by pedrell, the founder of spain's modern national school of composition. he spent several years in paris, but drew on his own native musical traditions in works such as the popular ballet music the three cornered hat. the composer lived in this house for a number of years. items on display relate to his life....
the cathedral was begun in 1528 on the orders of the catholic monarchs. construction was under the great master diego de siloe, and continued after his death in 1528. it features a magnificent capilla real (royal chapel) and has a notable rotunda, with some fine paintings by alonso cano, a native of granada....
