fuente vaqueros is home to the casa museo garcia lorca. the museum was the former home of the poet and playwright federico garcia lorca, who was born in fuente vaqueros in 1898. lorca, who spent much time in nearby granada, became known for the sensitivity of his poetry and the powerful drama of his plays, such as yerma, blood wedding and the house of bernarda alba, which continue to be widely produced on stage throughout the world. he was assassinated near viznar during the spanish civil war....
