cap roig is made up of beautifully landscaped gardens and a castle. it is situated in palafrugell de calella and was founded by colonel woevodsky and dorothy webster in 1927. they bought the land and began to build a castle and a magnificent park. this work continued until 1974 when the area was finally completed.the garden runs down in terraces from the castle to the seashore making for a pleasant walk during your stay in the costa brava. the first few terraces are known as nuns' terrace, basin terrace and lovers' garden, and are connect by the cypress stairway which has a prominent architectural emphasis....
l'emporda national park is a protected area of marshland taking up 4866 hectares, situated on the costa brava, spain. it is made up of three nature reserves; le llaunes, les estanys and illa de caramany. the three nature reserves attract a wide variety of vegetation and animal life, especially birds. you will find over 320 different species of birds in l'emporda national park including stork, bittern, gallinule, marsh harrier and the grey shrike.the landscape here is very impressive, combining salt water wetlands with fresh water ponds and dunes that become the winter living place for many bird species....

the vall de nuria rack rail is a mountain railway situated in the pyrenees, in the north of the catalonia region of spain. this place of interest connects the lines between ribes de freser with queralbs and nuria. queralbs is the highest point in which a car can be driven to, and from then the only way of reaching the shrine and ski resort in nuria is by using the rail track. however, there is an old footpath that follows the rail line. the rail line originally opened in 1931 and became part of the ferrocarrils de la generalitat de catalunya(fgc) in 1984. the line is 12.5 km (7.8 miles) long and is worth a trip aboard if only for the scenery and views....
