THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM IBIZA

The Archaeological Museum is a small but excellent museum of the history of Ibiza and Formentera. It is so compact though it does have a lot of steps that a visit need only take an hour or so, but it will be a worthwhile hour, visitors gaining a useful insight into the lives of the Carthaginian, Roman and Moorish occupants of the islands. The museum's Carthaginian remains are particularly good: together with those from the Puig des Molins Museum they represent the world's finest collection of artifacts from that most enigmatic of civilizations. All the displays within the museum have explanations in English as well as Spanish and Catalan.
