SAN MIGUEL PORT IBIZA
This deep cut inlet of the northern coast is an excellent natural harbor and has a white sand beach. On the inlet's eastern Side (right-hand as you look out to seal there are several futuristic hotels the Hotel Clubs Cartago, Galeon and San Miquel Steps up to these offer excellent platforms for photographers wanting shots of the bay.
Close to Port de Sant Miguel is the Hacienda Na Xamena. the only hotel on the island with a fivestar rating. It is also one of the most attractive, and has one of the island's best restaurants.
On the same side of the bay, beyond the hotels, is the Cova de Ca'n Mara, caves that were once used by smugglers as stores for contraband. Excavations have revealed animal bones, mostly of rodents, but no firm evidence for occupation by man.
Today the caves are open to the public, clever use of light adding considerably to the natural beauty of the stalagmites and stalactites.
