CALA XARRACA IBIZA
Strictly speaking, Cala Xarraca is a tiny half-moon bay cut into the inner arc of a much larger cove, one enclosed by the headlands of Punta sa Torre near Portinatx, and Xarraca to the west. On the Portinatx side of the bay a path heads easily around a shallow headland to a much smaller bay. Follow this path to reach Cala Xuela, a little more crowded because of the closeness of the main road, but still very attractive.
Heading away from Portinatx you can pick up a path at the far end of the beach: follow this to a picturesque small bay with boathouses and curiously painted rocks. Bear right to continue through the pines to reach clumps of almond, fig and olive trees. Now turn right to reach a marvelous viewpoint back towards Portinatx. On the main path you will pass a farmhouse. Soon afterwards, a right turning leads to the Xarraca headland, from where the views are outstanding. From the end of the path, which is about a half-hour's walk from the beach at Cala Xarraca, steps lead down to the sea.
