LOS CRISTIANOS TENERIFE

As this was the only coastal town already in existence in the late 1960s, when sun seekers arrived in the south, it was to this harbour that they came. Los Cristianos already had a few bars and a good natural beach, and owed its existence as a port to a sun-trap location well sheltered from the wind. Even with the subsequent massive growth, the town maintains its separate identity and a refreshing sense of reality which is sometimes lacking at the newer resort next door. The focal point is the bustling harbour area, from where ferries depart for La Gomera.
