TORRETRENCADA

Drive across farmland on the old Roman road from Ciutadella to Mao, turn into a small car park, cross three cattle grids and across a field you catch sight of a monumental taula hiding among the trees. Birds sing and cattle graze as you cross the field; the prehistoric village is surrounded by drystone walls and as with so many of Menorca's ancient sites it is hard to tell where the old stones end and the new ones begin.
