ERMITA DE SANT JOAN DE MISSA
This 15th-century Gothic church, brilliantly whitewashed and visible for miles around, is only used once a year on the eve of the Festa de Sant Joan (when a horseback procession from Ciutadella rides out for a traditional Mass before returning to the city for the festivities). At most other times the church is locked, but if you're on your way to Cala En Turqueta or Cala Macarella it's worth stopping to look at the small gabled bellower and the ivy branches across the arched facade.
