COVA DES COLOMS

An easy excursion can be made from Es Migjorn Gran to this remarkable cave in the Binigaus gorge. Follow the signs from the Sant Tomas end of the town. From the car park, walk past the cemetery and along a wide track to the farm of Binigaus Veil, then look for a track on your left (marked cuevas) Clamber over the wall to your left at another cuevas sign and follow the white arrows on the ground, crossing the valley floor to reach the cave. It is dank, dark, the size of a cathedral and buzzing with birds and bats. The cave can also be reached on foot from the beach at Sant Adeodato.
