CALA EN TURQUETA BEACH

This beautiful spot could easily be destroyed by thoughtless development; as it is it remains blissfully unspoiled The reason, as with so many of Menorca's beaches, is that it cannot be reached by road. Following a government campaign to reclaim Menorca's beaches, there is now a free car park but it is still a 10 minute walk down to the beach and the gates are locked at 6PM.

Pine-covered cliffs look down on to clear blue water and a beach of soft white sand backs on to extensive pine woods The beach itself shelves gently into the sea, making it ideal for swimming. For the best views, climb on to the western cliffs the path here continues to the next cove, Cala des Talaier, and from there to Arenal de Son Saura
