BINIMELLA BEACH

Getting to Binimella is an adventure in itself. Head north from Es Mercadal along a series of country roads, and then follow a wide dust track signposted to BinimelIa. After about 1km the track forks left to drop down to the beach, where you can park your car beside a freshwater lake

The beach, backed by sand dunes, is of red sand and pebbles; the water is deep and the absence of shade means you are exposed to the sun and wind. To escape this head for the smaller sheltered beaches around the bay, popular with nudists. You can get there by ignoring the left fork mentioned above. The best reason for coming to BinimelIa, though, is in order to walk to Cala Pregonda.
