MUSEO ROMANTICO MADRID

The Marques de la VegaI set up the country's tourist infrastructure and initiated the paradores, the national group of hotels in former castles and monasteries. His collection of 19th century paintings, books and furniture formed the nucleus of this somewhat eccentric but entertaining museum of period ephemera (fans, old photo albums, cigar cases, dueling pistols, paintings etc), dedicated to artists and writers of a romantic bent.
