LAS CANTERAS BEACH LAS PALMAS

The 3km-long Playa de las Canteras sheltered by the inshore reef of La Sarra, is the city's premier beach, which can become extremely crowded on summer weekends. The paseo behind the beach, with Joggers morning and evening and walkers all day and much of the night, provides a fascinating indicator of a highly varied population. The major landmark of the area is the tall tower of the Sol Sardinos Hotel.
