CAMEL SAFARI MASPALOMAS

North of the charco, camel safaris are offered through the sand dunes. Riders sit on either side of their ungainly beast, managed by Paco and his friends, then trundle off in a circle that takes half an hour to complete. A safari package for large, rebooked groups includes a cup of mint tea (sitting cross-legged in a fake bedouin tent) followed by the camel ride, then a bus trip up the barranco and lunch at a ranch.
