PUERTO BANUS ANDALUCIA

References to the 'exclusive resort of Marbella' can be misleading as, more often than not, the term applies not to the town, but to the hotels strung out on either side of the town, including the plush Guadalmina development and the Puerto Banus marina. This area is, in effect, the 'playground' of the jet set.

Puerto Banus  is officially part of San Pedro de Alcantara , located 3km away, and is usually listed under Nueva Andalucia. However, it is within the community of Marbella and tends to be included in references to the town. It continues to be a place of pure enjoyment and a magnet for yachties. The marina has berths for over 900 and attracts craft of all sizes; millionaires' yachts are a common sight. There are also facilities for many waters ports.

Marbella continues to attract the celebrities and stars. The partying goes on but has become less visible as more of the social scene takes place privately. This does not deter many visitors, however, who may well catch sight of some familiar face.
