Fuengirola

Fuengirola is a lively seaside town, situated just 20 minutes from Malaga Airport. The beach-front promenade stretches over 9km, making it one of the longest in Europe, and the whole stretch is lined with bars, restaurants and cafés, offering a wide range of cuisine, including tapas, seafood, fish, snacks and fast food. Fuengirola night life is varied and vibrant, and nightclubs, late night bars, discos, karaoke bars and live entertainment venues are situated throughout the town. Don´t miss the horse processions and parades through the streets, and the incredible firework displays which mark the beginning and the end of the feria. The award-winning Fuengirola Zoo is home to tigers, lions and crocodiles who all live happily in a semi-natural environment, and the famous Mijas Aquapark is situated just off the N-340 approach road to Fuengirola. Culture vultures should visit the Sohail Castle, at the west end of town, which once defended the town against French invaders.
