Estepona
Estepona offers visitors a wide range of things to see and do, while still retaining its original Spanish charm. The Marina area is where most of the bars, cafés and restaurants are situated, and most of the nightclubs are open until dawn. If you prefer typical Spanish restaurants and tapas bars, take a stroll around the old town of Estepona with its narrow streets, quaint shops and pavement cafés. The nearby Estepona Golf Course is one of the cheapest on the Costa del Sol, and water sports fans can find a range of facilities on the beaches at Estepona.
One of the area´s most popular attractions is Selwo Nature Park, which is situated just a few miles east of Estepona town centre, and is home to over 2,000 species of animals and birds. Estepona offers visitors deluxe five star hotels, self-catering accommodation and a range of cheaper hotels and guest houses to suit all budgets. If you plan to stay in Estepona, you can fly into Malaga Airport (about 1 hour, 15 mins drive) or Gibraltar (about 35 minutes away - but bear in mind you have to clear Gibraltar customs when you arrive). The Estepona Equestrian Centre is situated just 1km east of the town, and regularly holds shows, exhibitions and events to show the Andalucian horse at its best. Estepona is a quieter resort than Marbella and Puerto Banus, but visitors can still find some superb beaches, shops, bars and restaurants in and around the town centre.
