Unique in Europe, Selwo is home to over 2,000 species of animals and birds from all over the world, which roam around semi-free in this natural environment. Animals range from smaller species such as meerkats to lions, tigers and bears. A huge aviary is situated close to the entrance of the park with over 1,000 birds swooping around. Visitors walk through the aviary on their way to the higher parts of the park, where 4x4 jeeps and safari trucks take you around the outer areas.

The cabins are round and decorated in an African style on the outside, with modern facilities and comfortable accommodation inside. Facilities around the park include cafés and food outlets.

Selwo Safari Park  is the only theme park in Europe that offers visitors a combination of adventures, safari and nature. There are four walking routes for visitors to enjoy in this 100-acre park. These four routes have different eco-systems according to the animals that inhabit each area. The routes are known as Portico de la Naturaleza, El Cañon de las Aves, El Poblado Central and Ruta de los Valles.
