Benahavis
Situated between Estepona and San Pedro, on the western side of the Costa del Sol, Benahavis is an inland village with plenty to offer visitors. Just 9km inland from the main coast road, Benahavis is famous for its restaurants, and is known as the gastronomic corner of the Costa del Sol. Traditional bodegas and Spanish restaurants are situated on every street corner in Benahavis, and some of the best chefs in Spain run restaurants in the town.
The whitewashed houses of Benahavis, the narrow streets and quaint shops offer visitors a real taste of Andalucia just ten minute´s drive from the coast. Some of the Costa del Sol´s best golf courses are also situated on the approach road to Benahavis, and country lovers can take advantage of the natural rock pools and waterfalls just outside the town centre. Some development has taken place in Benahavis over the past few years, but although an increasing number of properties have been built to house more ex-pats in the area, the town has not been spoilt by tourism or commercialism, and still retains much of its original charm. If you are looking for a quiet holiday, within easy reach of the main attractions of the Costa del Sol, Benahavis could be the perfect holiday hideaway for you. Benahavis is approximately 1 hour, 10 mins drive from Malaga Airport.
