THE ART MUSEUM GIRONA

This museum in the former episcopal palace contains a large collection of Catalan art, from Romanesque to contemporary. Among the exhibits to look for are the 10th century portable altar from the monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes - the 14th-century stencils used to design stained glass windows for the cathedral in Girona, and the scenes of 20th century Girona by the Catalan artist Santiago Rusinyol and the Polish painter Mela Mutter.
