SANT FELIU CHURCH GIRONA

Girona's second church is easily recognised by its broken spire, damaged by lightning in 1581 and never repaired. It's an essential feature of the skyline when seen from the Onyar river. Built over the tomb of Feliu of Africa, a 4th century Bishop of Girona, the church is a mix of architectural styles, from Romanesque to Gothic to baroque. Interesting features include the Roman sarcophagi, both pagan and Christian, built into the sanctuary walls, and the neoclassical chapel of Sant Narcis, with marble walls and painted ceiling.
