PLATJA D'ARO COSTA BRAVA

The small fishing harbor of the village of Castell d'Aro has grown over the last 50 years into the Costa Brava's second largest resort, with a population that rises from 3,000 in winter to more than 100,000 in summer. The beach is 3km of golden sand; the night life is legendary and there are numerous activities for children. From discos to water sports, whatever you want in Platja d'Aro is probably there except peace and quiet.

The original village survives 3km inland, with a medieval castle where art exhibitions are sometimes held, and a Museu de la Nina (Doll Museum) for those who want to escape from the beach, there are free guided walking tours of the old village throughout the year.
