PERATALLADA Costa Brava

A bridge leads across the original moat to this medieval village, (the name means 'hewn stone'), and the cobbled alleyways are full of stone houses bearing ancient coats of arms. People travel for long distances at weekends to eat in Peratallada's restaurants, and to wander the back streets around the 11th century castle.
