GARROTXA COUNTY MUSEUM OLOT
An 18th entury hospice houses this museum, which contains the most important collection of work from the Olot School of painters Key figures in the movement were Josep Berga i Boix and Joaquim Vayreda. Many of Vayreda's paintings of rural life are on display, together with others by his brother Maria, better known as a writer. The Modernist sculptor Miquel Blay was also influenced by the Olot School; among his works is a portrait of Berga i Boix More modern work includes a selection of nudes by the sculptor Josep Clara, a pupil of Berga i Boix. The museum also includes displays on Olot's traditional industries bell-making, clog-making, textiles Ibla I and religious statuary.
