AIGUERA PARK BENIDORM

Benidorm is justly proud of Aiguera Park, a long sweep of promenades, fountains and greenery running seawards down a dried-up river valley. It was designed by the post Modernist Catalan architect Ricardo Bofill. It was the first major piece of public architecture In Benidorm, designed to add some sophistication to a resort that was tired of being branded 'down-market'. It succeeded brilliantly, its elegant central avenue acting as a meeting place and its two fine amphitheatres, dramatically lit at night, are ideal for concerts and cultural events.
