AGRES VILLAGE ALICANTE

Tucked in the northern inland corner of Alicante (Alacant) province, Agres is a quiet upland agricultural village, set around an ancient convent and a castle. It makes a good jumping off point for exploring the Sierra de Mariola, the Gallinera valley and inland towns such as Alcoy and Biar the surrounding hills are wonderful walking country, carpeted with wild herbs and dotted with pozos de nieve, medieval ice-houses.
