PAVELLO MIES VAN DER ROHE

Modernist architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe created this masterpiece of modern 'international' design for the 1929 World Exhibition at Montjuic, a construction of astonishing simplicity and finesse in marble, onyx, glass and chrome, widely acknowledged as one of the classic buildings of the 20th century. It was dismantled at the end of the fair and subsequently meticulously reconstructed and reopened (in its original location) in 1986, on the centenary of Mies van der Rohe's birth.

Inside, take time to enjoy the quality of the colors, textures and materials, as well as a striking bronze sculpture entitled Der Morgen (The Morning) and the famous 'Barcelona' chair a design of timeless ' elegance created by Mies van der Rohe especially for the Expo, which has since been copied worldwide.
