National Museum of Catalonian Art (MNAC)
The National Museum of Catalonian Art can be found within the walls of the very grand Palau Nacional (National Palace) which was built for the 1929 International Exhibition. The art collection has become the most important in the city and features predominantly Romanesque items, mostly frescoes attained from Catalan churches. There is an expanding Gothic collection which covers the whole of Spain and various Baroque and Renaissance works from all over Europe. A collection of 20th century pieces previously on show at the Museu d´Art Modern are now housed at the venue. This is a highly recommended place of interest.
