La Pedrera Barcelona

La Pedrera, or the Quarry, is another of Antoni Gaudi´s fabulous architectural designs and a definite must see while on holiday in Barcelona. With its undulating, organic forms, the building's façade could be compared to a natural sandstone cliff face, or the spine of a great beast.

This attraction was built between 1906 and 1910 for the Mila family of Barcelona and was declared a World Heritage sight by UNESCO in 1984. It is currently owned by the Caixa Foundation. The buildings chimneys are possibly some of the most famous in the world, colourful and reminiscent of warriors and sand sculptures. The building is as interesting inside as out.
