Fundació Joan Miró Barcelona
The Fundació de Joan Miró is a museum of modern art honoring Joan Miró (1893-1983), a Catalan born painter, ceramicist and sculptor made famous by his vivid colourful surrealist style. The attraction is located on Montjuic in Barcelona.
The building itself is of significant architectural interest and is an example of modern design drawing from regional traditions. The permanent collection of Miró´s tapestries, sculptures, paintings and print work is very interesting and there are various activities for children, and guided tours on weekends compliment the visual feast. Periodic exhibitions of other artists are also held.
