Barcelona Zoo

Located at the Parc de la Ciutadella, in the old town sector of Barcelona, Barcelona Zoo (Parc Zoologic, Barcelona) is great holiday fun for kids and adults alike. There are no cages at this zoo, animal pens are separated by moats, and the aquariums hold regular dolphin and whale shows, while for the very young, pony rides, electric cars and a train trip around the zoo are great entertainment. There are picnic zones and various restaurants on site. During the summer months, the weather is usually hot and dry but if visiting around April-May or around November it would pay to make sure there is no rain in the forecast.
