Held annually, the Sant Lluis Fiesta attracts thousands of locals and visitors every year who pack the streets of this pretty town.

In a test of great skill and horsemanship, riders encourage the majestic, Andalucian horses to rear up on their hind legs in a movement known as the jaleo.

One of several skills practised on the island by Menorca´s top horsemen, the Jaleo is performed by over 50 locals who compete for the sought after titles of Caixer Señor, Caixer Pagesos and Caixer Menestral.

On the Saturday, the opening ceremony is followed by a horse race and a spectacular concert, and celebrations continue into the Sunday with various competitions plus colourful processions and parades, market stalls and fireworks.
