The spectacular Gran Teatre del Liceu, plays host to one of Barcelona´s most prestigious annual events between October and December, 2008, when The Festival of New Opera is staged.
Stunning performances take place at venues throughout the city, and this event acts as a platform for emerging writers to show their talent by promoting new material on stage. Hosted in the city since 1993, this famous event attracts music fans from all over the world.
Previous new operas by home grown talent, have included work by Catalan composers such as Saló Danubis, by Joan Albert Amargós, and Hang Man Hang Man, and the Town of Greed, by Lleonard Balada. Catalan singer and actress, Uma Ysamat has also premiered at this amazing music fest.
