Soller Railway
The Soller Railway track has connected the city of Palma de Mallorca and the smaller town of Soller since 1912. As you step on board, you feel like you are being transported back in time. The train is powered by an electric locomotive, and is the only train of its type that is still used today. The train travels the 27km journey from Palma to Soller, along a very narrow track. The train has perfectly retained its traditional décor and character, making you feel you have been transported back to the early 20th century. The route the train travels provides views of the beautiful countryside, and then takes you through the thirteen tunnels of the Serra de Tramuntana. The journey takes about one hour, and is a nice journey to take with the family to visit the charming town of Soller for the day.
