S'Albufera Nature Reserve
Located in the north of Mallorca, just outside the centre of Alcudia Bay, The S'Albufera Nature Reserve is a relaxing place of interest to visit for a romantic walk, or fun day out with the children. It's the most important wet-land to the Balearic Islands. The Nature Reserve has a marshy coastline, with artificial canals and natural lakes, spanning an impressive area of 1709 hectares. This picturesque area was formed 100,000 years ago, when the shore-line came into being, during the interglacial period. A small museum can be found on site offering information on the vegetation and several species of birds that can be spotted there. It's recommended that you bring some binoculars, or alternatively they can be hired at the reception area.
