Playa de Palma
Palma beach is extremely popular for a day in the sun whilst on holiday in Mallorca. Palma beach is known for its distinctive beach huts that run along this stretch of the east coast of the Bay of Palma called 'balneario's'. Balnearios are used to mark your spot along the beach, and each has a café-bar in front of them for refreshment. There are 15 of these, and the 15th marks the beginning of the resort of Can Pastilla. Playa de Palma is an impressive 6km in length and is located close to Mallorca Airport. There is a promenade spanning the length of Playa de Palma, which plays host to many bars, shops and restaurants. Along the stretch, water-crafts, umbrellas and sun-beds can be rented at a small fee, and lifeguards are on duty to ensure safety.
