Playa de las Canteras

Playa de Las Canteras is located in the island capital, Las Palmas, and is considered to be the best urban beach in Gran Canaria. Las Canteras Beach is shaped like a cove that stretches for 3km, with fine golden sand and clear blue sea. The beach does become very crowded during the summer season, with many tourists visiting every day. Sun-beds, parasols and watercrafts can be hired for the day at the beach, and the beach is home to a range of water sports such as windsurfing. The Playa de Las Canteras promenade (Paseo Canteras) is full of shops, restaurants, bars and street entertainers, with a separate path allowing walkers, cyclists and rollerblader's to travel the beach stretch free from traffic. Playa de Las Canteras offers a great beach in Gran Canaria to spend the day at whilst on holiday in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
