Lake Banyoles is the main lake of Catalonia and is situated in the northeast of the Iberian Peninsula, not far from the town of Girona, on the Costa Brava. It is the largest lake in the area with a surface area of 1.12km2 and with a maximum depth of 62 meters, providing a picturesque place of interest to visit for long walks or cycling.
The lake also has designated swimming areas available along with hourly boat trips leaving from the Easter shore. Lake Banyoles is surrounded by an 8km path, which rarely gets busy, making the lake perfect for a family day out in Catalonia.
