There are various beaches in Platja d'Aro. The Port d'Aro beach is where visitors are given the chance to practice a range of water sports and beach activities. Windsurfing and sailing are particularly popular here due to the strong winds.
Further down the river Riadura you will find the Playa Gran, which at 2400 metres long is the largest and most popular beach in Platja d'Aro. This beach is made up of fine golden sand.
A promenade runs along the beachfront with various shop, bars and restaurants catering for you holiday in Costa Brava. Other services you will find on the beach include beach games, showers, pedal boat hire and sun beds.
