Picasso Museum
The Picasso Museum is a fantastic place of interest, a real must see tucked away in the heart of Barcelona´s old town, yet easily found with the help of a map.
One of the cities most popular attractions, the museum itself is ingeniously situated within five adjoining medieval palaces on Carrer Montcada: Berenguer d´Aguilar, Baro de Castellet, Meca, Mauri and Finestress. The 3000 piece collection mainly consists of Picasso´s earlier works, the gem of the collection being his series of 44 paintings Las Meninas (Maids of Honour) inspired by Velazquez´s masterpiece.
On rainy days or during the winter take appropriate umbrellas and coats as the walk to the museum is unsheltered.
