Las Ramblas
Las Ramblas is Barcelona's most famous stretch of pavement. Originally a riverbed which ran from the Collserola Hills to the sea, it is now a series of five consecutive streets that makes up an avenue between the Port Vell and Plaça de Catalunya. Particularly during summer months, the strip comes alive with street performers, flower and bird sellers, musicians, hawkers and thousands of locals and tourists. Open well into the evenings it is a great place to visit on holiday in Barcelona. The street is lined with shops, famous museums and buildings, grand mansions, Gaudi´s Palau Guell, the Placa Teial, the Liceu Opera House and the grand Boqueria Food Market. Weather during the summer months is usually dry but if raining, bring an umbrella, as the streets are uncovered.
