Barri Gótic (Gothic Quarter)
Barcelona´s Barri Gótic is the Gothic quarter of the old town, established above the original Roman city of Barcelona which was founded during the reign of Augustus (27 BC- AD 14). Made up of crooked streets and hidden cobbled squares, the Barri Gótic is a great place to explore all year round. Medieval, Rennaisance and Baroque architecture, as well as the old Roman wall, and places of interest such as the Barcelona Cathedral, Picasso Museum, various administrative buildings, and much more are all located within the quarter.
During the winter, weather is cold so bring a coat, and if going without a tour guide, bring a good map available at any tourist information centre in Barcelona.
GETTING THERE: The closest metro station is Jaume I.
